Sergey Nazariya: “Double standards are actively used in Moldova!”

The head of Association of historians and political scientists of "PRO-MOLDOVA", the Doctor of Political Sciences Sergey Nazariya spoke on double standards of the Moldavian justice and the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in questions of the international relations in the Republic of Moldova:

- The Moldavian law enforcement agencies pursue the policy of double standards in legislation application in the field of ensuring the rights of ethnic minorities. Our association filed a lawsuit the claim in connection with promotion of xenophobia and national discord in history textbooks. The same claims were submitted by the representatives of civil society. In defiance of all procedural norms the terms were tightened indefinitely. In general, actually, our state tries to sabotage the adoption of any decisions in this question.

Generally, the country has a policy on terrorization of anti-fascists and protection of fascists. Classical example is the marches of legionaries which undertaken under protection of police, the governments, initiation of criminal cases against those who protests against these marches. Other example is xenophobe Kravchenko whom the court completely acquitted. And at the same time it immediately reacts to those moments when it is necessary to use the law as a cudgel against the political opponents.

Classical example, most striking example is when on the eve of May 9 the League of the Russian Youth stretched a St.George's Ribbon and there was a banner on which there was a photomontage from several photos. All of them were the time of the Great Patriotic War and World War II. The car with the Soviet soldiers on board was on one of them where it was written “Death to the Romanian cannibals!”. Here this photo now is submitted absolutely demagogically as an example of international discord and the anti-Romanian promotion. It is nonsense!

The mayor of Kishinev Dorin Chirtoacă at the improvised press conference instructed the prosecutor's office to initiate proceedings against the head of League of the Russian Youth Igor Tulyantsev. It is the most striking example of use of the law as a cudgel against political opponents. We don't accept it! The law shouldn't be used as a beam! It has to be equal for all.

Not only Moldavian, but also the Romanian authorities reacted to a case with a St.George's Ribbon. The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Titus Corlățean addressed to the prime minister of Moldova Leancă, Minister of Internal Affairs Rechan and our fame-thirsty person – primar. Our Romanian “friends| in the person of Traian Basescu and Titus Corlățean don't see any violations in Moldova in this case that they finance the xenophobic textbooks, but, found the fabricated pretext to finish with anti-fascists.
