Nationalism and discrimination of the Russian-speaking majority are the corporate foundations of the Ukrainian power.

Giving to the Russian language the status of the second state one was one of the basic pre-election pledges of Party of Regions. Having come to power, this political force has made nothing in this direction. Moreover, it has continued a course of the “orange” predecessors in many respects, proclaiming the priorities of European NATO integration and Russophobia (the violent Ukrainization). Once again the Russian-speaking voters have been roughly deceived by the power. It occurs due to the fact that the nationalism and oppressions of the Russian-speaking majority became a necessary condition of existing model of “not fallow” Ukrainian state, confirms Gennady Vasilevich Makarov, the chairman of Coordination council of the Russian organizations of the East of Ukraine “Russian Veche” in interview to our Internet portal.

- How is a situation with the rights of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine at present time? What are the prospects of realization of pre-election pledges by the country leaders about giving to the Russian language the status of the second state one?

I want to begin with the background of a question - there is the language law of 1989 year accepted still in the USSR, according to which the Ukrainian language is the state and the status of an official language and language of international dialogue, as a matter of fact, is given to the Russian. There is the article in the law that the use of the Russian language is possible on a level with the state one in the places of compact residing of the Russian population. This condition was carried out in Ukraine almost in all regions, even in the Western Ukraine. But now there is other situation –the Russians have been “squeezed out” from the Western Ukraine in the issue of discrimination. When Vyacheslav Chernovol was the governor there, there was “language police” which demanded almost each saleswoman to pass examination and didn't permit to work without the examination reference. Then 3 thousand families have left Lvov in one of the months. And now, if the Russian music plays in any cafe, they can beat the glasses. There is still tradition of UPA, tradition of terrorist actions against the Russians. The events on May, 9th, 2011 are the acknowledgement to that when any person with St. George ribbon became an object of the attack and beating.

In 90th years in the course of capture of command political heights by the citizens of Galicia, some changes have been made to various laws – of education, judicial system, public prosecutor's activity, office-work, advertizing, radio, television – all about 80 laws which exhausted the Russian language in an underground. Even the regional television and radio organization should broadcast only on “mova”. But the law “Of languages” of 1989 year sample, giving big opportunities to the Russian language, continues to exist. Therefore it is necessary to cancel first of all these 80 laws at the first stage for restoration of the rights of the Russian-speaking population.

There are also other forms except direct discrimination of the Russian at legislative level. For example, onomastic assimilation. It is when the Russian names are taken away violently from people and given absolutely other name with the help of public funds. The name Nikolay going from the goddess Nika-victory turns to Mykola; Nikita can't be in Ukraine – only Mykyta. Phillip turns to Pylyp, Elena to Olen, Alexander to Oleksandr. The name with other capital letter is other name according to the international laws. There are problems often at trips abroad because of it. The matter comes to ridiculous things– there are the encyclopedia, the explanatory dictionary where Alexander the Great is written through the letter “A”, but Alexander Nevsky and all Russian tsars through the letter “O”. In what cases there is such change of a name which was given to you by parents and which corresponds to thousand-year traditions? In one case when somebody wants to mock at you and consequently your name start to distort. And if it is possible to distort a name randomly, then it is possible to replace it with number to what Ukraine goes – biometric passports and identification numbers are introduced.

In Ukraine it is possible to be called any name, though Osama bin Laden, except widespread Russian names. It specifies in regular discrimination of the Russian population, leading to the change of national-cultural identity (ethnocide).

How the Russian movements carry out the influence on Party of Regions for modification of the existing politics?

In the end of 2005, the conference “From elections of 2004 to elections of 2006” has been spent in Crimea on which the decision on association of “Party of Regions” and party “Russian block” was accepted. This association has occurred in connection with the necessity of attraction of the Russian-speaking electorate. The cooperation of “Party of Regions” with party “United Russia” has begun for the same reason. Evgeny Petrovich Kushnarev took an active participation in party building. Just he has played a considerable role that the present party was made from the medley of business executives, businessmen, officials and which he has led to the power. There was a question on performance of obligations after elections and, first of all, giving the status of the state one to the Russian language and full-scale integration with Russia.

But in that case “Party of Regions” would lose the individual power. It wanted to govern individually, not to let the Russians to Ukraine and not to let the representatives of other parties to the power, to select people only through own structures. Therefore they have ceased to recognize the party “Russian Block” already after the first year of cooperation. Originally there were many people in “Party of Regions” who shared the program defending the rights of the Russian-speaking citizens. But they became much less after next elections – they simply haven't been included in party lists. For example, there were many people in last Kharkov regional council who sincerely worked in this direction. They were out after elections, the lists have been cleaned and they were the units.

Thus, “Party of Regions” used the active workers and programs of the Russian movements and then has gone on direct infringement of pre-election pledges?

Really, “Party of Regions hasn't executed the program with which has gone on elections. If the democratic principles work in full, the East of Ukraine always would have advantage to carry out the political will – the Russian language as the state one, the federal system, the country development in a close connection with Russia and Byelorussia. But there is a coincidence of two moments – the desire of “Party of Regions” independently to manage in Ukraine, not to permit the Russian capital here and unwillingness to permit the Russian party to the power. Therefore all Russian parties and the organizations are suppressed and stopped as the competitors conducting the critic from the Russian-speaking population. This criticism should be completely stopped that “Party of Regions” remained the unique representative and the spokesman of interests of the Russian-speaking majority.

At the same time the major geopolitical factor continues to act, namely the interests of the USA. For whom Ukraine is an advanced post for capture of Russia and the Russian resources. “Party of Regions” is compelled to reckon with “inquiries” of the USA and NATO because the USA has the fulfilled levers of influence on the Ukrainian management for a long time. The levers of influence are the information on the unseemly past of all basic persons in the power and blasting pro-Bandera structures.

There is also one more aspect. The nationalists cooperated with the fascists during the World War II. Then “all appearances and passwords” have been transferred to the CIA which made the blasting work against the USSR through the organizations of the nationalists. Thousand former nationalists, policemen, SS veterans and other helpers of German fascism have located in the USA and Canada. As a matter of fact, the Americans have collected them, the criminal cases aren't raised against them and they are a valuable resource for ideological and information struggle. In connection with the presence of the adjusted contacts with the nationalist organizations, the Americans had an opportunity to place a powerful secret-service network in Ukraine which makes direct impact on the power and made decisions. Therefore it is clear that when the new person gets to the power, comes to Kiev, he is explained at every step what he should do in order not to get to “bad” story.

Probably, this influence speaks that Anna Herman has come to a management of Yanukovich, the worker of radio “Freedom”, Vyacheslav Chernovol's former assistant who was brought up on insurgent songs of UPA. He took Katskiv, the head of “Pora”, one of the organizers of orange revolution and he has been compelled to take Stavniychuk and tens of people of pro-orange, American orientation. All it occurs because of set of influence factors from the West.

So, the nationalism became the integral corporate rule of the Ukrainian power. If you confirmed that you were the nationalist, you could get access to imperious powers. And even if people get there with normal psychology, in a year-two they turn to the contrast. It is possible to remember the citizen of Kharkov, the deputy Gavrish under whose offer and other citizens of Kharkov who voted for that, have been forbidden the advertizing in the Russian language. Many citizens of Kharkov, getting to the power, have been compelled to support this situation. I communicated with some of them and they said that are compelled to vote so.

In summary I will give the statistics which speaks about a sharpness of this problem. According to the American sociologists from Gallup institute which has spent scale sociological researches in 2009, 83 % of the population with Russian mentality has been revealed in Ukraine. The approach to poll is extremely interesting. They gave the questionnaires on minor themes (what powder do you use, what is your favourite film) in the Ukrainian and Russian languages and 83 % have chosen the questionnaires in the Russian language. When the polls were spent where the question on a native language was asked directly, the people were guided by political convictions, therefore the data was other. Thereupon, the given poll is the most realistic and shows a true state of affairs: the overwhelming majority of citizens in Ukraine is the Russian-speaking. For this reason, the politics which is spent by both previous and the present Ukrainian power is criminal in relation to overwhelming majority of the voters. Therefore the problem of the Russian democratic movement in Ukraine is to release the country from false and destructive state ideology of the Ukrainian nationalism which is supported by geopolitical enemies of the triune Russian people.
