Secrets of June 22: the lie about barrier troops, SMERSH and NKVD. Chapter X

I will give some data from article of the participant of the Battle of Stalingrad, professor Anatoly Tsvetkov about the actions of counter-intelligence and barrier troops at the initial stage of this battle.

As Anatoly Tsvetkov notes, the significant role in order establishing in armies of the Red Army in the Battle of Stalingrad played the barrier troops of the People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs created by order of the People's Commissariat of Defence of the USSR No. 227 of July 29, 1942. The barrier troops of the Stalingrad front detained 36109 people during August and September of 1942 year. 730 people were arrested from them. 433 persons were shot from these 730 arrested. 1056 people were directed to the penalty companies, 33 persons to battalions of military offenders and 33851 persons were sent to the units for further service.

I pay attention of the readers to an order of figures. 36109 persons were detained and 433 persons were shot. It was the period of the most furious cruelty of the barrier troops. Later, when the front was stabilized, NKVD didn't use so drastic measures any more.

Anatoly Tsvetkov recognizes that not all people from 433 had committed the offenses and crimes of such weight that they were necessary for shooting. The fault degree often didn't correspond to weight of punishment.

However “arrested” and “shot” doesn't mean the machine guns shooting at the back. And there could not be these machine guns in principle.

They were thought up by dregs - anti-Soviet.

For example, 62d army of V. I. Chuykov is more than 80 thousand people!
Imagine how many the fighters of People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs and machine guns it was necessary to shoot at backs to such mass of soldiers and officers!!!

Actually the barrier troops of the 62d army made less than 200 people. And the barrier troop actively participated in fights too, sustained losses and therefore its usual number was even less than it was specified.

Well and some more words about counter-intelligence agents. This is the attribute of each modern film about war. Probably, I will not be mistaken, if I tell that any modern film devoted thirtieth or fortieth doesn't manage without them. The problem of film NKVD members is simple as a rake: in each film and series they should reveal the most courageous and self-denying fighters and commanders of RKKA, to make various intrigues against them, to arrest, to frighten, torture and send to the battalions of military offenders.

Generally, to promote a victory of the German weapon in every possible way.

Actually counter-intelligence agents carried out the huge work not to the detriment, but on advantage of the country and army. Only in August-September 1942 they checked more than 300 thousand military personnel of Stalingrad and Don fronts. I am afraid to be mistaken, but it turns out that they checked every second.

As a result 7644 were detained military personnel without documents. Nearly 2000 were the deserters from them and 1739 criminals. 348 people were arrested for espionage activity. There were 50 agents of Abwehr from them.

Two agents of the fighters were revealed and arrested preparing the attempt on general V. I. Chuykov.

The matter is that counter-intelligence simply HAD no time to be engaged in intrigues against heroes of the front and the back. The Germans started up the reconnaissance101А Abwehr team
(6 Abwehr Gruppe), 204 Abwehr team (4 Abwehr Gruppe), subordinated to “Valli” staff, two offices (507 and 508) of secret police, office “Rusland-Zund” of the created department of “Zepellin” under the direction of RSHA (decomposition of the deep back and underground workers), 2 army, 12 corps and more than 40 divisional reconnaissance departments “1-Ts” against RKKA on the Stalingrad direction. Agents for Stalingrad were prepared by two intelligence schools – in Warsaw and in Poltava.

Certainly, it would be possible to say that let that false fabrications remain on conscience of these cinematographers. But, I am afraid that it is impossible. After all in order that something remained on conscience it is necessary to have this conscience.
