Kharkov governor Baluta: Kharkov will be turned into the Pantheon of nation heroes' glory …

As the Kharkov bloggers testify, the high-ranking source in the Kharkov regional administration told that next day after demolition of the monument to Lenin, the closed meeting took place at which the questions of perpetuation of heroes memory of fight for independence of Ukraine were discussed. The adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko and the governor of the Kharkov area Igor Baluta presided over meeting.
These two in literal sense «heavyweights» of the Ukrainian policy, considering active pro-Russian moods at considerable part of the population of the city and area, need of their neutralization, and also following instructions of the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on perpetuation of memory of OUN-UPA heroes, made the proposal to give the status of the national Centre of nation glory and the advanced outpost of fight against Russia in the Southeast of Ukraine to Kharkov.
Igor Baluta suggested to create a unique complex of memory of nation heroes around Taras Shevchenko garden and Freedom Square. According the governor’s plan, it will include the museum of the Holodomor, the OUN-UPA museum, the museum of occupation, a place of burial of anti-terrorist operation heroes, the sculptural complex devoted to heroes of the Ukrainian nation and other constructions urged to wake up a pride for the country in citizens of Ukraine.
As Anton Gerashchenko told, all complex of buildings of the Kharkov State University of Vasily Karazin is planned to give for the museum of the Holodomor. The numerous exhibits will be placed on its floors. It is known that the university was founded in 1805 and was the oldest in Ukraine till today’s time.
Anton Gerashchenko and Igor Baluta expressed the consent to be the models for sculptors when those do statues of the victims of the Holodomor.
The museum of occupation will be placed in the former House of the State Industry where the government of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was placed till 1934. Igor Baluta is sure, it will correspond to establishment of historical justice as well as possible.
According to Anton Gerashchenko, it will be expedient to place the museum OUN-UPA in the building of the former academy of troops of Air Defence of Govorov, the exposition of which will tell about heroic fight against the Russian occupation, and will bring up the younger generation of Ukrainians in the spirit of patriotism. Separate floors will be taken away under the expositions devoted to nice affairs of «Right Sector» and the voluntary battalions «Azov», «Aydar», «Donbass» and other similar divisions. Soon it is planned to declare the collecting of exhibits.
Certainly, all these buildings will recoloured in expressive and picturesque black colour.
The name of the nearest subway station will be changed: now it will be called «Death to enemies».
The Kharkov hotel will keep the mission: numerous tourists will settle down in it.
Freedom Square in Kharkov will be radically reconstructed: in the central rectangular part of the largest square of Europe the columbarium will be placed where the memorial plates with surnames of soldiers of Air Defence of Ukraine, National guard and voluntary battalions which were lost in anti-terrorist operation will be established over ballot boxes with ashes of heroes. Participants of meeting are sure that the place will be enough for all, and installation of new boards won’t present any problems.
As Anton Gerashchenko noted, a nation symbol — a 20-meter trident near which there will be 15-meter figures of the embraced Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevich will be established instead of a pedestal of the demolished monument to Lenin.
Behind them in a strict order the heroes of the Ukrainian nation — Ivan Vygovsky, Ivan Mazepa, participants of Konotopsky fight, Simon Petliura, Vladimir Vinnichenko, Ivan Skoropadsky will accommodate around, there will be a place for «Heavenly one hundred» here.
The garden of Taras Shevchenko will restore the initial mission and will become a cemetery. After all, as we know, exactly here the Wehrmacht buried the soldiers, officers and generals in 1941 — 1943. Now the most outstanding soldiers who were lost during anti-terrorist operation will be buried here.
Besides, the participants of meeting made the decision on renaming of Kharkov streets.
Moscow Avenue will receive the name of Nation Heroes' Avenue, Stalingrad Heroes Avenue will become OUN-UPA Heroes Avenue, the prospect of the marshal Zhukov will change the name for Avenue «Nachtigall».
The final purpose of all actions is creation a situation of general constant mourning in Kharkov.
Financing of this grandiose project is planned to carry out at the expense of donations of the population of the Kharkov area.
The Kharkov regional administration believes that their initiative won’t be ignored by the population of Kharkov.
