Opinion: Latvia on the verge of coup d’etat

It is clear for everybody that the Latvian president had the initiative to dismiss the Seim not because of care of the Latvian people but in the issue of pressure which the American friends rendered on him. They have counted that can't leave him (unreasonable but sincerely betrayed) for the second service life as A. Lembergs has offered the alternative candidate of A. Berzinsh. There was a situation at which both candidates from parties in power fail in the first round and in the second round there passes a figure which will spend pro-Latvian political line instead of a pro-American. It could be some persons – it is already not important who.

V.Dombrovskis's government after the election of the new president then inevitably would fall and the new president could offer popular in people А. Lembergs on a post of the prime minister. He hates the Americans and, wishing to get under himself, they, rather recently, have kept Ventspils oligarch almost for a year in the Latvian prison and delay the closing of the criminal case till now raised against him.

In the beginning the Americans have made the attempt to intimidate A. Lembergs and other disobedient Latvian oligarchs with the searches and excitation of criminal cases through the protege Yu.Strike in powerful Latvian special service KNAB. (The rather not politically committed chief of this institution N.Vilnitis has been to holiday by them beforehand and hide now in the homestead out of harm’s way). This action of smart Yankees has appeared unsuccessful. It turned out that was difficult to intimidate our oligarchs with a prison skilly: A. Lembergs, A. Shkele and A. Shlessers. And many deputies of the Seim have estimated that this bowl can not to pass also them that is why haven't allowed to take inviolability away from the deputies as A. Shlessers and A. Shkele.

Then the vigorous Americans have caused V. Zatlers to Warsaw and, with the help of pompous Barack Obama, have demanded to dismiss the Seim. They, probably, had a small compromising evidence on our unlucky doctor or the last one has appeared simply psychologically weak type and has given in to the hypnosis of the Big brother.

What kind of the material interests are the basis of this game, which is rather new to the Latvian inhabitant? - Gas interests of America. It has mastered the production technology of gas from slate, has completely covered with it the own requirements and now climbs on the European markets. The most suitable place for this purpose is the Baltic States. Here also there was a terminal project on reception of liquefied gas which will be under construction for European Union money but it will accept gas from the USA. Therefore for the last half of year the pro-American governments of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia wet with saliva a theme about nationalization of gas networks which distribute the Russian natural gas yet. Therefore there was a question before last week on deprivation of the license of the international company "Latvias gas" for operation of the Inchukalnsky gas storage. By the way, the largest in Europe. In general the question price makes, at least, pair of ten billion dollars. The destiny of V.Zatlers, Seim and all Latvian people doesn't come in comparison with these sums.
The referendum beginning of Seim dissolution will create the political confusion for the next four months. Last two months Seim can't independently define the agenda at all. And the government of A. Dombrovskis will work all this time. And during the work it can successfully solve a gas question in favor of the Americans. And as usual not to bear the responsibility for that.
So we can fully say that the attempt to make "soft" coup d’etat was taken in Latvia in order to defend the interests of the foreigners before interests of the Latvians. Yes, our oligarchs are corrupted and selling. Yes, what they need is the prison. But this is our oligarchs and they defend, let’s with great benefit for themselves, the Latvian interests in internal and foreign policy. We are suggested to give the national wealth to the Americans alternatively for pennies. Just because their leader is psychologically stronger than our leader. Do we need such variant of events?
