Why the Georgian reformers so hate all Soviet?!

The present authorities of Georgia underline without hesitating the hatred to everything that is connected with the Soviet period of history of the country. Why? Probably, Kakha Bendukidze has all explained definitively during a recent television space bridge between Moscow and Tbilisi. He is the known businessman who, as usual, has made money in Russia and then was engaged in politics in Georgia.

Bendukidze was the minister of economic development, the state minister of coordination of reforms of Georgia, the head of the government office till 2009. The ardent supporter of ultraliberal reforms in Russia and Georgia, he is known for the saying: “It is necessary to sell everything, except conscience”.

And here is his opinion about the Soviet period of our general history, which explains much from this that occurs in Georgia:

- The Soviet past pulls us back! There was nothing good in the Soviet past. It doesn't mean that the sun didn’t shine and there was a bad weather then … It means that nothing from that was and is purely Soviet that has been invented, realized, thought up in Soviet Union, was no good.
And this, alas, unites us till now. We need to refuse the Soviet past as much as possible. The different countries do it differently and this way is very long … I look at Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia which already became a part of other world and I see that they have many Soviet things.

They speak about the education and ballet that were in Soviet Union; that there was a Soviet intelligentsia … There was no good in Soviet Union! Nothing! It is not necessary to consider the Soviet merits as merits, it is impossible to be turned into this past. Even in Georgia does the half of it therein which takes with great strides forward.

I look at our first-year –students who were born in 1993 – they have grown up not in Soviet country, but, nevertheless, they have a lot of Soviet! The process will come to the end, of course, but not soon.

It is necessary only to ask mister Bendukidze, whether he knows about that contribution into the history of the USSR, which the representatives of the people of Georgia have brought, beginning from Joseph Stalin and finishing with sergeant Meliton Kantaria? If not, so it remains to sympathize only to the Georgian statehood because of such scandalous illiteracy
