Kazakhstan is concerned by Orthodoxy split in Ukraine

Orthodox believers in Kazakhstan support the unity of Orthodoxy. They express full support to the canonical Local Churches and resent the divisive actions of Constantinople.

Due to the wise and far-sighted policy of the president Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan is known throughout the world as one of the few countries where there is a lasting peace between faiths.

However, Kazakhstan citizens are concerned by the processes that can harm the warm friendship between the people inhabiting our country.

Unfortunately, Ukraine has recently become such a country, where since the end of 2018 there has been a real split of Orthodoxy, initiated by Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew.
In this regard, the Metropolitan District in the Republic of Kazakhstan supported the Statement of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church with regard to the illegal invasion of the Patriarchate of Constantinople into the canonical territory of the Russian Orthodox Church, which states, inter alia:

-- The position on autocephaly, voiced now by the Patriarchate of Constantinople, completely contradicts the agreed position of all Local Orthodox Churches, made in the result of difficult discussions in preparation for the Holy and Great Council and recorded in the document "Autocephaly and the manner of its proclamation", which was signed by representatives of all Local Churches, including the Church of Constantinople.
-- In the absence of an official request for autocephaly from the bishop of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Bartholomew accepted the request from the Ukrainian government and dissenters, which completely contradicts his own position he took recently and was repeatedly stated, including publicly.
-- Unilateral, anti-canonical acts of the Throne of Constantinople on the territory of Ukraine, carried out in complete disregard of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, are a direct support of the Ukrainian split. The multi-million members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are extremely tempted by the fact that the Patriarchate of Constantinople, considering himself the Church-Mother for the Ukrainian Church, gives his daughter a stone instead of bread and a snake instead of fish.

However, Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew hasn’t heard the voice of the vast majority of the Orthodox and continues to make a split in the world Orthodoxy.

Now this threat has touched the Church of Greece, where the Blessed Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos forced to take the decision of the Council of the hierarchy in the Church of Greece to recognize the so-called “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” as divisive under threats and direct pressure from Fanar. This decision was not taken by the vote of the Episcopate, as it should be, but secretly.

There is no official document with the signatures of Greek archpastors that can be considered the evidence of a single council decision of the Local Church. Moreover, the news that the Church of Greece recognized the Ukrainian autocephaly was spread very quickly, which does not correspond to the text of the communiqué or the position of many participants of the Council. By the way, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythira, Metropolitan Simeon of New Smyrna, Metropolitan Nektarios of Kerkyra, Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus and other archpastors immediately declared about it.

Orthodox Christians in Kazakhstan are watching with pain as the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew destroys the foundations of the world Orthodoxy. And they are not indifferent, but actively protest against the Constantinople split.

Thus, on July 27, 2019, dozens of Kazakh pilgrims took part in three hundred thousand procession of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Kiev.
