Mirkazım Seyidov: “Rapprochement with the Turkic people is a priority of Russia!”

The creation of the International charity foundation of support of the Turkic population “Development” is declared. What the fund will be engaged, what tasks sets before itself? About it our portal was told by the ideological inspirer of fund, the member of the Union of journalists of Russia and the Union of journalists of Azerbaijan Mirkazim Seyidov:

- I lived many years in Russia, now I live and work in Azerbaijan. We see that in the world there are changes, there is a globalization which, anyway, infringes on interests of all countries. We see that the president of Russia Vladimir Putin accurately defined the foreign policy reference points for Russia. One of priorities in policy of Russia is rapprochement with the Turkic people which is more than 40. And, more than 20 of them live in Russia.

It is necessary to tell that Russia very actively participates in the international forums of the Turkic people. For example, when I participated in work of the first Media forum of the Turkic people, there were representatives of 17 Russian regions. That is, very wide representation!

But cooperation needs to be strengthened not only on state, but at all possible levels. Therefore, I also put forward idea of creation of the International charity foundation of support of the Turkic population “Development”. Here we have to consider two moments. The first is after the Soviet Union disorder million people representing the Turkic people arrived to Russia, many of them became the citizens of the Russian Federation. The second is that many Turkic people live in the territory of Russia: it is their homeland. I will note that throughout all history of the country the Turkic people always supported the Russian statehood.

We will continue not simply traditions, but also to develop cooperation in all spheres. Our work will be not on paper; our priority is concrete affairs! More precisely we will decide on plans at the first meeting which will take place in Baku.

I thought over idea of creation of Fund of support of the Turkic population “Development” very much. In this sense meetings have a great impact on me in Northern Cyprus with president and the prime minister of the republic who emphasized the importance of cooperation of the Turkic people and the states and Russia.

The fund will work in various spheres: cultural, social, charitable … The directions will be many. Here, for example, speaking about Germany, by all means call “the Turkish factor”. The matter is that 7 million of Turks live in Germany. It is obvious that there is a field for activity, and, probably, it will be necessary to open here the branch.

I want to note at once that it is a question of the Turkic people who aren't so integrated by one religion. It is important to understand it! All these people are very different. They deserve that their heritage was studied and propagandized. We after all, finally, will work for the greatest and good purpose – rapprochement of the people!

I want to tell about a position of Azerbaijan separately. The republic belongs to the international projects very seriously. Those from them that pass in our territory, receive always special attention. Azerbaijan treats all initiatives with huge interest and respect which come from Russia. It doesn’t matter at what level these initiatives move forward: state, public, or private – the main thing that they promoted the development of friendship of the people.

I can give you an example of very bright and effective activity in the sphere of the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. The matter is about the Russian branch of Heydar Aliyev Fund the work of which is headed by the daughter of our president Leyla Ilham qizi Aliyeva. In many spheres they achieved big successes!

The international charity foundation of support of the Turkic population “Development” only begins the work. But we are sure that our activity directed on strengthening and development of the relations of Russia and the Turkic-speaking states and the people will get full support, including, the state level.
