NATO can quite help Saakashvili to refuse Abkhazia and South Ossetia for the sake of “favourite” Georgia

Several Internet resources placed a material about the policy of the president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in English and French languages at once. We have reprinted the article published in the edition “Vecherny Krym”. Certainly, all paid attention to information that Mikheil Saakashvili intends to achieve the introduction in NATO block at any cost for Georgia in the shortest terms even at the price of recognition of independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Is it possible? As Saakashvili always declared that never recognizes the independence of these two countries. He even tried to gain his point with the help of the military way that led Georgia to a real crash. We asked to comment on information, which is actively discussed in the Network, the secretary of Public chamber of the Republic of Abkhazia Natella Akaba:

- I am already familiar with this information. What is it possible to say? Certainly, we, the citizens of Abkhazia, would like that our country had only friendly relations with neighbors. We would like that the people in Georgia, at last, ceased to repeat that they never recognize the loss of territorial integrity. It is the time to admit already the performed facts! And we, certainly, would like that Georgia would recognize Abkhazia some day.

But all should understand that our people made the choice and it won't recede from it. Georgia exists without Abkhazia and South Ossetia for a long time. It is the fact too!

We need in good-neighbourhood; and it would be more favorable to us, if Georgia had the neutral status, instead of looking only in one party – to the West. There are a lot of different conversations in a subject about which we speak, but I want to tell that Abkhazia will have enough wisdom to understand how words correspond with affairs. Also it would be desirable, that Russia didn't trust people who try to achieve the purposes with the help of lie. Remember, how the Georgian authorities deceived Russia at the time of Yeltsin. Not in vain Shevardnadze was called as “the old Fox” - he gained his point, having promising and deceiving.

Can Saakashvili undertake a step about which it is told in the publication? I think, that yes. But it is very strange person and it is possible to expect everything from him. Certainly, he wants to return the former borders, but all understand that it is impossible to achieve it peacefully. And it is obvious that he can’t reach it by the military way too.

That is, it is possible to allow such variant theoretically, however, all know that NATO doesn't admit the country with unresolved territorial problems … But everything can be and NATO can quite try for the sake of favourite Georgia.
