Russia will continue the support of Transnistria

The president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during «straight line» recently in April started talking about Transnistria.
We will allocate the highlights in words of Dniestr subject.
The first. Blockade of PMR is inadmissible. In order to remove it, it is necessary to resort to negotiations in the 5+2 format. (We will remind that this format unites the conflict parties in the person of Moldova and Transnistria; guarantors and intermediaries in the person of Russia and Ukraine; only intermediaries represented by OSCE; observers in the person of the USA and EU).
The second. «In this region the people are adjusted pro-Russian very much, a large number of the Russian citizens lives there and that is important, they have an idea of how to build the further destiny. It is necessary to allow to make it as they want — after all there is a manifestation of the real democracy».
The third. «All know that on border between Ukraine and Transnistria the nationalist formations are tightened. It is absolutely inadmissible, the Ukrainian party has to withdraw them. People should allow to decide the destiny. We also will work over it».
So, the Russian President proceeds from the pro-Russian spirit of Transnistria and that means: Russia will help the republic on Dniestr. It means that Russia is adjusted on that PMR won’t go to a sphere of influence of the European Union even if official Kishinev after agreement signing with EU (approximately the signing will be in May-June) will go there.
At the same time many analysts have a question: why Russia doesn’t recognize PMR the same as recognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia in 2008?
In Transnistria the people wait such recognition nearly 24 years. Here it is possible to assume the following. Russia doesn’t want to burn bridges in the relations with Kishinev until the parliamentary elections will pass in the Republic of Moldova. Probably, the ruling «Coalition of the pro-European board» will suffer defeat on them and more loyal to Russia forces will come to the power. Besides Russia has no general border with PMR that in the conditions of the difficult relations of Moscow with the present Kiev authorities can add only difficulties for the inhabitants of Transnistria.
Nevertheless, everyone in PMR is encouraged by words of the president of Russia that the inhabitants of Transnistria have to decide the destiny. It is regarded as the admission of that the referendum on September 17, 2006 when the people of PMR supported independence of the republic and its rapprochement with Russia, after all will be cornerstone of possible future decisions of Moscow on recognition of Dniestr independence.
Today Tiraspol is afraid of that Kishinev with support of part of politicians of EU and the USA will try to organize the full-scale pressure upon PMR from the East, from Ukraine. V. Putin’s words about «response» of «nationalist formations» from Ukrainian and Dniestr border «are deciphered» in PMR by many people as a message about inadmissibility of the power pressing on Transnistria in principle. It is especially important for PMR at the moment of intensity in the southeast of Ukraine.
It is possible to assume that after Vladimir Putin’s words the Russian support of PMR in military, political and economic spheres, at least, won’t decrease.
