The Finnish justice has refused to look into the death of the Siberian

The deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Karelin has received the answer to his inquiry to the Embassy of Russia in Finland about the results of investigation of the death of his assistant V.I. Ladyzhensky in the World Sauna Championship, which held in the city of Heinola on August, 7th, 2010.

The Charge d'Affaires ad interim of Russia in Finland L. Anisimov informs that under data available for Embassy, literally, “… public prosecutor’s office has refused to refer the case to the court, but we haven’t received the official conclusion yet”

Such answer grants the right to speak that the Finnish justice did predictably in case which once again infringes the interests of the Russian citizens. The answer to official inquiry of embassy of Russia in Finland is possible to name as formality. The Finnish side has told nothing concrete, it simply stated the fact that the Public Prosecutor’s office of Heinola didn't refer the case to the court. The official refusal in institution of criminal case was not also presented. But the Finnish authorities weren't too lazy to send the police investigation materials on 288 pages of the typewritten text in Finnish language and a disk with video recording of the tragic final. Instead of the official conclusion on the case of the death of the Russian sportsman is only “throwing” of the information justifying a criminal negligence of organizers of the World Sauna Championship of 2010 year. By the way, having looked at the presented disk, it is possible to draw a conclusion that both participants of the final began to break rules of competitions much before a tragic outcome. The death of the Russian and heavy burns of the Finn could be prevented if the judges would be more skilled, attentive and composed. Both participants should be disqualified according to the existing, but as it has appeared, invalid rules during the final.

There is an impression that the organizers of the World championship try to present the dead skilled Russian sportsman V.I. Ladyzhensky who has arrived to the international competitions, as self-murderer. Doesn’t contradict the common sense? The risks for health and life of the competitors should be lowered to a minimum even considering the extremeness of a sports sauna, carrying out rule, regulations of representative international competitions, qualification of arbitrators and professional medical maintenance, admission system to participation in competitions. But in practice it turned out differently. Why? Why the Russian sportsman was lost and the Finnish participant has seriously suffered in final?

May be the point is in the Finnish patriotism and this high feeling prevents to estimate objectively a situation, "forces" to forget about ethics, common sense, not to pay attention to an illogicality of investigatory decisions?

All what is going on is like déjà vu. The similar scenario where the Finnish party is "categorically” right took place in resonant cases of Rimma Salonen, Inga Rantala, Irina Antonova … And it only those cases which have received the international publicity, were widely discussed, had a public resonance. Usually, in disputes, the Finnish justice acts on the party of the fellow citizens. Thus, frequently for this purpose there are no powerful arguments and that the most important thing, no common sense.

The case didn’t come up to the court in the history with the death of Vladimir Ladyzhensky yet. The relatives of Vladimir Ladyzhensky have faced a serious problem with the reception of a body for a burial. In spite of the fact that all formalities have been operatively settled, the final journey from Finland to Russia has occupied almost three weeks. In conversation with the experts, who are prosecuting the ritual issue has sounded that we were even lucky. Usually the Finns don't give out the bodies so quickly (!!!), they are in mortuaries till 4 – 6 months … Under the relation of the Finnish authorities to an event is visible that they have put all blame for the happened on the dead Russian sportsman, without paying attention of that the serious damage to health, in connection with glaring violations from organizers, has been put to the second finalist, the representative of the republic of Finland Timo Kaukonen. According to the Finnish mass-media, Kaukonen two months was in coma, his body has been strongly burned … But Kaukonen, God grant him good health, has survived and now he keeps silence about the details of a final duel but what price of this silence is a rhetorical question.

The Russian side continues to have own way. The death of Ladyzhensky has come because of a criminal negligence of the organizers. Till now it is not clear, why our arguments based on the objective facts, evidences of eyewitnesses, photos and video data, don't reach the organizers of the World championship and responsible authorities. Though, in a context of a system warp in consciousness of the representatives of the Finnish justice all is clear - we deal with total infringement of moral, ethical, legal norms and human rights. As it is known, European court accepts many decisions against Finland – the Finnish system of justice is far not the best in EU and makes a lot of infringements of the rights and freedom of the person. Unfortunately, the case of Vladimir Ladyzhensky's death became acknowledgement of justice of such unsatisfactory and negative estimation once again. Therefore the Russians, who come to the civil legal relations with the representatives of Suomi, are necessary to be more circumspectly. The probability is high that in case of occurrence of disputes of different types, the Russian citizens can't count on high-grade realization of the rights and freedom, and won't be insured from tiresome and, at times, the humiliating legal procedures, the purpose of which is “to make a good mine at bad game” by any way.
