The actions of the All-Ukrainian Union “Freedom” on May 9th in Lvov

- In your opinion, what was the basic incitement to events happened on the 9th of May in Lvov? One says that this is the adoption of Red Banner law, others – that arrival of active workers from Odessa.

In my opinion, neither an adoption of Red Banner law, nor statements that any organizations are intended to celebrate in Lvov on May 9th could not to serve as such reason. The party “Freedom” is in power in the Western areas of Ukraine for almost a year. And it wanted to show not only to Lvov, but also to all Ukraine the ideological principles and frankly fascist positions and to show that it has the real power and they operate a situation. Also that the laws of Ukraine can become void on the territory of city or region and that they establish the new order. In my opinion, that was the main reason of the occurred. The second moment is that both the Kiev authorities and local administrations closed the eyes on it. Law enforcement bodies have not undertaken any steps to minimize the similar things. The decision of the representatives of the Odessa public organizations to stand in memory of soldiers of the Soviet Army in the city of Lvov is their right. They could go to any city of Ukraine, carry out that action which they consider to do necessary in the same way. But the party “Freedom” has taken advantage of it, as an occasion for carrying out of the action of intimidation and demonstration of the force.

- Whether the retaliatory actions of the Kiev authorities on events in Lvov are adequate?

No, the actions of the authorities were not adequate as there were some demands from various forces and parties. The city council and the mayor’s office have not undertaken any actions to plant them for one table and to agree about any game rules. If they will tell me that the governor of the region, who was the militia general in the past did not know how to make so that there were no these collisions, I never believe it. Because one year ago there was other governor at whom both the veterans and communists have passed in the centre of Lvov and there were no similar collisions and similar shame. They did not wish to prevent it. And I think that scenarios of these events go to the very top, up to separate officials of Presidential Administration. I do not think that it was game of the president, but that there is a certain group, the fraction of people which spend such Neo-Bandera policy in an environment of the president is obvious for everybody today.

- There is an opinion that the All-Ukrainian Union “Freedom” has got out of hand of this group of persons and they began to operate independently.

The Ukrainian experts and journalists and foreign newspapers already openly write that this is the project of Party of Regions. It is obvious that so simple party which is not in parliament at all, can’t to receive the broadcasts on all central channels at the prime time for propagation of the ideas and people. They receive much more time in these broadcasts n comparison with other participants. But we perfectly understand under whose control are the basic television channels. The second moment, that the carrying out of so scale advertising actions demands hundred millions hryvnas. Whence the unparliamentary, rather recently arisen party has such money? All it means that these extremists are necessary to someone that it is a component in any pre-election and political technologies. It is difficult to judge whether they come under the control or not. But, firstly, the historical experience testifies that it is impossible neither to agree, nor to play any games with fascists in general. Secondly, even if the leaders of this organization are dependent and on a hook to some extent, so those people whom they have typed and have pumped up with national extremism, national fascism, would sweep off these leaders if the leaders are less radical than they are.

- Thereupon, is the danger of occurrence of separatist, radical moods, considering, that already now the direct appeals to power overthrow sound from party “Freedom”?

If to take the party “Freedom” and its leaders as the phenomenon in general and if there was an adequate state policy, according to the operating Constitution and the current legislation, so this party should be forbidden and removed from registration for a long time. But for something they hold them. Separatism is not so actual in their actions but there can be the push for country disorder. It is obvious that all other Ukraine, the Big Ukraine will not be reconciled themselves to that such pro-fascist vision of our history, vision of same future and, especially, same present would be imposed on them. Certainly, the radicals in the power, they wanted them to stretch in parliament today, will give a stimulus to that Ukraine can lose that integrity which it has today.

- Also there is the information that the All-Ukrainian Union “Freedom” is sponsored from the foreign centres and carries out the programs not only of the local organizers. Whether really it exists?

I do not exclude such variants. We perfectly understand that strong Ukraine really is not necessary to the Western countries. Ukraine is necessary as a puppet. And the puppet is easy for operating, when the internal situation is destabilized. This order is carried out also by “Freedom”. Certainly, it goes on a hand to variety of the countries which would like to see our country weakened and which could be twirled in one’s interests somehow. If we take any western centres, the western countries, so “Freedom” plays on that Ukraine has been transformed into the anti-Russian base both economic and political. There is the interest of such political forces and it is real.

- Whether any references in the Ukrainian courts, the international organizations with the description of events on the 9th of May and the requirement to make corresponding decisions from the part of the Communist Party of Ukraine?

We try to give the maximum popularity to events which have occurred, to inform the colleagues in Ukraine, left parties, usual people, and left parties abroad in parliaments that a real revival of fascism with the connivance of the government is in our country and to what it can result. Today we make preliminary work in the area of the State Office of Public Prosecutor. The creation of parliamentary court of inquiry which would understand and has made the decision concerning these actions is supposed to make. This work goes, we collect the concrete materials that it could be realized in the legal plan. But today many things depend on political will of party in power and the president.

- What is your relation to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary which has followed on checks of the Security Service of Ukraine of the citizens, who receive the Hungarian passports, that, ostensibly, Ukraine acts inadmissibly and breaks the legislation and that “Budapest will not admit such reference with the Hungarians”?

Firstly, our neighbours, I do not speak about the leading world countries, stopped to perceive our country seriously, to reckon with our country for very long time ago. And after these 20 ridiculous years named as the independence not clearly from what or from whom, the country has turned from the subject of world politics to object of world politics. Therefore, speaking for convenience, the strong countries, such as Romania and Hungary, try to play our field including loosening our statehood, an internal situation by delivery of similar passports. There is also similar to it “a card of the Pole”. The first it was received by the regional officials who most of all expose themselves as the patriots of Ukraine but who try to do any frauds, business through Poland. The same situation occurs both in Transcarpathia and in Chernovtsy from the side of Romania and Hungary. Similar statements are not admissible totally and they are the intervention in our internal affairs. However, it is surprising what toothless position the party in power occupies and the president who bears responsibility for foreign policy.

- In your opinion, whether it tells about some trend towards Ukraine from the side the organizations which include these countries, for example, the NATO alliance that two countries, Romania and Hungary, have started to carry out the same policy simultaneously?

I think that the European Union countries and the NATO countries do not trust in the future of Ukraine. They don’t see this future neither in the economic plan, nor in social, therefore dare to carry out such policy and the confirmation of this is these actions with delivery of passports.

- Whether is possible to use of a situation with newly made citizens of Hungary and Romania how there was once with the Albanians in Kosovo, namely the entrapment of the similar scenario?

The last events show, that the Yalta conference and other international agreements are crushed for today and there is no world right as such. The whole countries can disappear, the whole people can break under different pretexts, probably, any intervention, right up to the military intervention can be in affairs of this or that country. Therefore, Ukraine, being the extremely weakened state which is torn apart from within, is a tasty morse for similar actions. And the most different circumstances, including this situation can be an occasion to their realization.

- Whether can the activity of “Freedom” become the cause for creation of provocation against the Hungarian citizens with the subsequent deployment of their “protection” in territory of Ukraine?

Such circumstances can be probably predicted. The most interesting is that almost all political forces, making comments on events on May 9th, said that it was a provocation. And the active participants of that provocation were the activists of “Freedom, those people whom they have employed from fans of football clubs, the sports organizations. Where is a guarantee, that these people will not be employed for any other purpose, including, for provocations against national minorities if they paid suitably? There are no such guarantees.
