The fairy tale about the great and awful tsar Mishiko told by centenary grandfather Vano to the grandson George

You see, Georgy, we live in a small proud mountain village high in the mountains… But there are not just mountains in our Georgia but also the ancient capital called Tbilisi. And great Georgian king Mishiko lived there in our old capital Tbilisi. He was famous far beyond the Georgian border with his fearlessness, courage and enormous strength. Everybody feared him, both friends and enemies as he was of a wild and unpredictable temper…
Mishiko dethroned the old king by his consent, and then he lived happily ever after but at the same time gaining enemies. Though he had friends beyond the seas, they were for appearances' sake, for they acted mostly for their own sake and then to annoy our northern neighbor Russia. Thus, Georgy, Mishiko was firstly awfully rejoiced and started coming to the Russian border, standing there around the clock. Moreover, he was not just standing but he was shouting some foul things. Day and night, yeah, he yelled very long but Russia paid no attention to his swearing. Then Mishiko got offended with it and came to Azerbaijan seeking friendship with their king. But he flopped there because Mishiko bent awkwardly to the local queen and the king all but beat his face.
Then the great Mishiko dropped it and found a new true friend – prince Victor, Pock-Marked from Kiev, and they started coming together with him to the Russian borders and shouting there. The shouted and shouted but in vain, while some odd things were going on in Tbilisi… Mishiko in the time between yelling at the border visited his capital and every time when he came something happened: Now the Prime-Minister dies, now he is beaten and violated, now a secretary becomes pregnant…
But you see, Georgy, the Great Mishiko went on coming to the Russian border and standing there, all the same. He was persistent, you see… But the back-stage spy clique was watchful, and Mishiko smashed them when being the next time in Tbilisi, Georgy, he arrested 12 retainers of knight Giorgadze, he suppressed the revolt of knight Quiziani in Codor ravine, caught spies once again, then he directed his steps to Samzhe-Gavaheti and Quemo-Cartly where he chased other people, too. After these campaigns he came back to Tbilisi and drove away the common folk, and appointed his own election, and immediately won He won and ran right to the Russian border to shout! Georgy, he wanted to shorten his way to a Western union but he failed: either he yelled too quiet or something else, but he was refused in the Romanian Bucharest.
Now the Great Mishiko understood that he is prevented from this great deed by Abkhazian and Ossetians. These are nations. And he declared war on them. To frighten them, he chew on his necktie. But they were not frightened and called Russia to help them which was also annoyed with the Great Mishiko’s shouts. Together, they beat him so strongly that Mishiko declared them aggressors and himself - a victorious commander.
Mishiko did not accept this victory and started once again coming to the Russian border and yelling there. At the same time he began to equip his victorious troops.
- Grandpa, what was the Great Mishiko shouting about? - asked Georgy.
- Many things, my boy, many things. He yelled that Russia prepares aggression against the small Georgia. That Russia is going to blow some pipe high in the mountains although it was he who was going to blow this pipe in order to shout at the Russian border after it. Mishiko troubled everybody, even his friends abroad so immensely that they completely forgot him very soon… Thus, Mishiko went to the highest mountain, set down and thought: “What else could I do to make the people over the sea hear as I shout at the Russian border?”
- Well, Grandpa, what did he come up with?” - the grandson could not contain himself.
- Nothing, - answered the grandfather, - he still seats on the mountain… I suppose he will go at the end of the year to yell once again.
- It is a good tale, Grandpa Vano, - said Georgy, - and the main thing is that it is true…
