Why Russia pays to the Council of Europe for that it flings mud?

It seems that the Russian politics concerning this European organization is in complete submission at the liberal Russian politicians. As we know, all Russian is bad, vile and disgusting for them. But why the anti-Russian hysteria should be paid by Russia? Many Canadians with the Russian origin sincerely are perplexed, observing so cynical infringement of the rights of Russia.

As in 2010 Russia paid 29, 7 million Euros for the membership in the Council of Europe and in 2011 – nearly 34, 7 millions. Italy, France and Germany paid approximately as much. The countries of the Baltic States, Finland, Sweden and Georgia pay much less.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, since 1996 when Russia started to participate in it, repeatedly made decisions which not only legitimate the rights of our country on the international scene, but also often simply offended the Russian Federation and even encroached on its sovereignty.

So, the Council of Europe declared the international terrorist organizations of the Caucasus conducting the subversive activities in the territory of Russia on the money of Saudi Arabia and Qatar (that is proved long ago and it is widely known), as the fighters for freedom and belief … And the Russian foreign policy instead of giving to similar “delicacy” a basic and rigid assessment, is limited in it and not only in it, only with muffled official statements. Let's remind that such statement was accepted by the organization financed including on the Russian money!

Further – it is more. The same Parliamentary Assembly, it seems, decided even to expel the Russian Federation from the structure … for aggression against Georgia. Though then the European parliamentarians bethought, possibly, having checked the purse and having understood that their salaries will sharply be reduced, but the fact remains: there was the attempt and again for the Russian money. And again the Russian politicians and officials were limited only with the statements.

Certainly, “bullying” of the Council of Europe to Russia didn't end: there suddenly attended to gay parades (this subject extremely excites the European parliamentarians everywhere and always), the freedom of elections and the “heaviest” position of non-profit organizations in Russia. And again the Russian taxpayer paid and pays for all.

If to analyze the resolutions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, so the overwhelming quantitative advantage of the anti-Russian statements is available.

In memorable 90th years, when there was nothing to take from Russia and it was necessary to pay for membership of Russia in the Council of Europe, it was promised to deduce the military units from Moldova, to eradicate a hazing in army, to observe the international humanitarian law, to return the cultural values “grasped” as the result of various wars to the countries of Europe, to cancel the death penalty in a peace time, to settle all border conflicts, to ratify the European convention on human rights, to enter alternative service.

But that is indicative: The Council of Europe doesn't pay any attention to brazen violations not only of human rights, but also international law not only somewhere in the world, but also in the Europe: so Great Britain threatened to take the Embassy of Ecuador in London by storm where the well-known Julian Assange, the founder of scandalous site “WikiLeaks” found a shelter, who asked a political asylum in this country And if still to remember the basic silence or nearly general approval of military operations in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and now in Syria by this strange organization, it becomes clear that the Council of Europe actually is not something other as a lever on those countries which pursue the independent foreign and domestic policy.

Now the bloody opposition in Syria is supplied and financed openly by the leading members of PACE, but … This respectable organization prefers to close the eyes on it … Where is the justice, misters European parliamentarians? As the blood of the Syrian conflict victims lays down on your conscience too.

It is simply ridiculously to observe from an outsider's viewpoint how the European parliamentarians adopt resolutions with serious faces in support of persons of nonconventional sexual orientation in Russia, gracefully pass thus monstrous human rights violations in the countries of the Baltic States or don't notice the Nazism revival in the Eastern Europe.

Looking from outside, absolutely unclear why the Russian taxpayers pay more than billion hundred million rubles per year in the budget of the Council of Europe only to be fling mud at them once again. Or the liberal spells about the unity with Europe is more important for Russia than its authority on the international scene?
