WADA must be denied the right to determine the winners in sport

The world anti-Doping Agency should be responsible for the late detection of doping in athletes.

When some people in the West are defeated, they always change history at their own discretion.

This is what is happening now with the Second world war, and about 50 percent, and in some countries the majority of the population, sincerely believe that the United States and Britain defeated Nazism, and the Russians dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This is what happens in big sports, including the Olympic one, when, failing to ensure high sporting achievements of their athletes in a fair fight, some Western countries use WADA's hands to take away gold medals from the winners.

Now Russian biathlete Yevgeny Ustyugov has been found guilty of violating anti-doping rules. Ustyugov's results from August 27 to the end of the 2013/2014 season were canceled. He is accused of using the anabolic steroid Oxandrolone. And the Russian athlete was stripped of the gold medal he won at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. But this is not all: the process will continue.
Proceedings against the Russian WADA began in 2018. The Agency investigated possible violations by Ustyugov at the Vancouver Games in 2010 and in Sochi. He and 64 other Russian biathletes are suspected of using banned drugs.

This decision was made based on an analysis of data from the Moscow anti-doping laboratory for 2013. Note that it is not the analysis itself, that is, the laboratory study of Ustyugov's samples, but the data of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, which, as is known, the Russian fugitive Rodchenkov, having access to the database, made changes and falsifications at his discretion. Or maybe it was done by them on the instructions of those structures that simply ordered the discrediting and subsequent disqualification of famous Russian athletes?

Thus, Russia loses the first place in the medal standings at the end of the Sochi Olympics in 2014. And moves to the third line, skipping ahead of Norway and Canada.

Russia is banned from participating in world sports competitions, and its athletes are forbidden to perform with their own flag and anthem. In the West, there are already numerous calls to continue similar proceedings in other sports - skating, skiing, bobsleigh, Curling, etc.

But such actions by WADA have exactly the same relation to the fight against doping as the Australian rabbits have to the election of the Pope. Collective punishment for doping, especially for an entire country, even if it was used, is illegal, absurd, and smacks of pure racism.
For some reason, no one asks the question: where exactly was WADA before and during the Sochi winter Olympics in 2014?

WADA has been in existence since 1999, and the world anti — doping code defines the retention period for samples taken during major competitions as 10 years (previously 8 years). And before each Olympic games, samples should be rechecked, starting with the previous two, using new testing methods developed over the past time.

Athletes in General can be tested for doping an unlimited number of times. They are required to indicate their intended location during the non-competitive period. Authorized organizations can make checks at least daily, but only in the period from 6 to 23 hours local time. And for failure to provide such information, sanctions follow.

But WADA does not deal with such "little things". It, like the old "good" Inquisition, passes its verdicts in much the same way as it did in medieval Europe with regard to women suspected of witchcraft. A likely witch was thrown into the water with a stone around her neck: if she drowned, then she was innocent, if by some miracle she came up, she was still considered a witch and in most cases burned at the stake.

Only one question remains unanswered: why did WADA not detect doping in Ustyugov in 2014? Who is to blame for this? Finally, where is the list of WADA functionaries who have been punished and suspended in disgrace for this? Why is there no investigation into this fact of apparent negligence or apparent malice of WADA's actions?

There is a very tangible real danger that WADA will begin to review the results of all the Olympiads after they have finished, having sensed a taste of impunity and permissiveness for the time being only in relation to Russian athletes.

Thus, the winners will be identified not by the sports competitions themselves, but by WADA functionaries.

This perverse practice should be stopped immediately and the results of competitions should not be reviewed or canceled after they are officially announced. And WADA personnel should be held responsible for the untimely discovery of doping and suspended from their duties for the duration of the investigation.

Otherwise, world sport risks facing the prospect of a complete loss of credibility and significance of world Championships and Olympiads. All will decide big money, which will be entered (or already entered?) in WADA from the back door.
