The truth about Katyn and the Polish terror
In April 2020, Poland will remember the execution of Polish prisoners of war who died 80 years ago near Katyn at the hands of the NKVD (and maybe not the NKVD, and maybe not in April 1940…)
I will not say that for some reason the hands of the executed were tied with twine, which was produced only in Germany, and in the bodies of the victims were found only bullets of 7, 65 mm, suitable for pistols like "Walther" or "Browning".
I will not talk about why Stalin and the NKVD needed to shoot more than 4,000 poles near Smolensk, even on the territory of the NKVD dachas, when if they wanted to keep these executions secret, it was much easier and more logical to simply send all these poles far, far to the East and give them the opportunity to disappear without a trace in the Siberian taiga in numerous GULAG camps. However, there they could be safely shot.
I will not talk about all the absurd nonsense that supporters of the recognition of the guilt of the NKVD and the USSR as a whole for Katyn, who claim that the cunning "encavedists", assuming a close war with the Third Reich, specifically used German twine and cartridges 7, 65 mm, in order to "frame" the "noble" Aryans and shift responsibility for the execution to them. In the same way, I will not say that for the first time the Katyn case was declared by the office of Joseph Goebbels, known for its "objectivity". Also, I will not say that the Nuremberg Tribunal refused to recognize the USSR's guilt for Katyn.
Moreover, I will not talk about the so-called "Katyn folder" that appeared in Mikhail Gorbachev's possession and was subsequently handed over to Boris Yeltsin, since any more than a little authoritative experts have irrefutable doubts about the authenticity of the documents in it.
Memoranda sent to the ECHR, the Ministry of justice of Russia and the Main military Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, which conducted the investigation in criminal case No. 159 from 1990 to 2004, questioned the authenticity of L. Beria's note to Stalin No. 794/B of "_" March 1940 with a proposal to shoot 25,700 Polish citizens, as well as the note of KGB Chairman A. Shelepin to N. Khrushchev No. 632 W of March 3, 1959 on the alleged execution of 21,857 Polish citizens in 1940, which are the main documents allegedly confirming the fact that poles were shot in 1940.
I will only ask how Poland came to be in the territory of Western Belarus and Western Ukraine, which it owned from 1920 to 1939?
But it simply attacked Soviet Russia in 1920 and annexed these lands, ignoring all the proposals of the Western powers and the note of the British foreign Secretary, Lord George Curzon, dated July 11, 1920, according to which the Polish-Soviet border was to pass through Grodno, Yalovka, Nemirov, Brest-Litovsk, dorogusk, ustilug, East of Grubeshov, through Krylov and further West of Rava-Russian and East of Przemysl to the Carpathians.
For 19 years, these territories were subjected to a policy of merciless Polonization, which in fact resulted in a policy of merciless state terror on the part of the Polish authorities and colonists against Belarusians, Jews, Ukrainians, Russians and people of other nationalities.
The fact that this statement is, in fact, even too soft, is evidenced by numerous requests on behalf of the Belarusian peasant-labor community, received by the Minister of war and other senior officials of Poland almost every day. By the way, because of this, on the night of January 14-15, 1927, mass searches and arrests were carried out among the members of the community. And then the Polish "Democrats" without any consent of the Sejm were arrested leaders of the Community-deputies Bronislaw Tarashkevich, Simon RAK-Mikhailovsky, Pavel Voloshin and others. And on March 21 the Hromada was banned…
Here are the documents:
Of course, such actions of Warsaw against the "native" population of Western Belarus could not but cause mass protests among this population. Historians count several hundred large and small uprisings of Belarusians during the almost twenty-year Polish interwar period. Warsaw responded to these mass protests with punitive expeditions, field courts, and concentration camps, the most famous of which was the Beryoz-Kartuzska camp. It is now in Minsk, with its active desire to "go to Europe", that they do not want to remember these atrocities, thus betraying the memory of their ancestors who went to their deaths for the sake of liberation from Polish atrocities.
Belarusians were particularly active in the fight when the red Army approached in September 1939. In the Belarusian town of Skidel, the local population rebelled against the Polish administration after hearing about the approach of red army units. For this it paid with its life.
The uprising was suppressed by Polish Uhlans, gendarmes, and members of Polish nationalist parties who acted as volunteer assistants to the army and gendarmerie.
Historian N. Malishevsky:
"A big atrocity has started in a small town. 30 people were immediately shot by the punishers. They also shot just those who came to hand. Before the execution mocked: one gouged out his eyes, cut others languages, the third broke butts fingers... do Not understand neither men nor women. All of them were rounded up at the Orthodox Church, forced to lie face down, hit on the head with buttocks, forced to kiss the ground and at the same time shouted: "The land is ours, Polish, you will not live on it!". While some punishers mocked Belarusians at the Orthodox Church, others went through the city.
The tragedy of the small town did not end there. In the late afternoon, of the two hundred people who had lain all day at the Orthodox Church, 70 people were selected — "the most active rebels" and driven to execution... When the first five tormented people were snatched from the crowd of the doomed and set for execution, a tankette with a red star on its side appeared from behind the woods. It was to the rescue of the rebels in Skidel hurried flying squad of the red army led by captain Chernyavsky-two armored cars and two tanks. They were loaded with weapons. Captain Chernyavsky armed the peasants from the surrounding villages with these weapons. With their help, Skidel was completely cleared of Polish punishers on September 20, 1939."
It is also worth asking modern Warsaw about why it does not try to reliably identify the remains of those poles who were found in Katyn. You will not believe it, but so far we have managed to do this for only a few dozen, although with modern technologies this action does not present any difficulties.
It seems that the exact opposite is true.
Even if it was the NKVD that actually shot some poles in Katyn and other places, they were not so "white and fluffy". And certainly not the Polish elite.
They were the same Polish policemen, Uhlans, and nationalists who mercilessly and brutally destroyed the population of Western Belarus and Western Ukraine during the forced Polonization from 1920 to 1939.
That is why their descendants and the official Warsaw so do not want to establish the identity of the victims. Who would want to admit the fact that the remains of punishers and executioners lie in Katyn? Yes, and someone's relatives, now safely living citizens of Poland?
Warsaw doesn't need the truth. She needs a lie.
